Course Syllabus

Welcome to the course.

This course is designed for an online educational experience. While this course is designed with adults in mind, the content may be adapted for a general audience. This course comprises of three modules. In these modules we will explore the foundations of color theory and apply that understanding in ways to improve our acrylic painting technics. During the course we will apply our knowledge to practice, which will require students to upload images of their work to canvas for collaborative feedback.

Resources

This is an online course and will require the student to have access to a computer or other device with browser access to the internet for completing and uploading assignments. As part of this course, it will be expected that the student will be able to take and upload digital images of their physical painted works.

A COVID-19 vaccination is required for students and employees. Below is information about how to verify your vaccinated status or file for an exemption.

Submit proof of vaccination
The Student Health and Counseling Center encourages students to submit proof of vaccine as soon as possible. Please visit this PowerPoint information or Word document for details on how to submit this information. Students with questions about proof of vaccination or exemptions, please contact SHCC at 503-838-8313.

File for an exemption
Students are allowed an exemption from getting the COVID-19 vaccine for medical or non-medical reasons (which includes religious, philosophical or other non-medical reasons).
There are three steps to file for an exemption.

  1. View the  COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption Education Module. Required for Exemption
  2. Download and complete the  COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption Request Form
  3. Submit the form to SHCC.

Assignments and Grading

Students will be provided with reading assignments and quizzes built into the modules of the course in the learning management system (LMS). Collaboration occurs through the sharing and peer-critiquing. Grading will be based off rubrics tailored to meet the learning objectives for each project.

 

A         90-100%

B          80- 89%

C          70- 79%

D         60- 69%

F          59% and below
